Yohji-Yamamoto-pwaw-2010

PARIS, Mar 6, 2010 / FW/ — FashionWindows joins the resounding applause for Yohji Yamamoto’s quick bail out from chapter 11.

Upon arrival at the Lychee Carnot venue in the 17th district of Paris, guests were greeted with what at first appeared to be cushions on the seats. But to everyone’s ultimate content they turned out to be blankets!

That was wonderful because it was cold and we were in store for a show that was as controlled as it was captivating.

Boxy shorts, pleated skirts all lending themselves to that school-girl feel. Simply wonderful! Other elements: thick, baggy ribbed knits, see-through mesh. Throw in a little Jim Croce “Old Man River” & “Spin, Spin, Spin” and it’s complete.

Welcome back Mr. Yamamoto.
