NEW YORK, Apr 6, 2010 / FW/ — Baseball… America’s pastime; the New York Yankees… 2009 World Champion; DKNY… the brand that celebrates the energy of New York… And beginning Tuesday, April 13, 2010, they will all meet at the Yankee Stadium, the first home game for the Yankees for the 2010 season.

Marking a place in the NY Yankees history, DKNY will be the first fashion brand to have a permanent presence in Yankee Stadium, with a prominent outfield billboard located in right centerfield, featuring the skyline of the City that DKNY celebrates.

In addition, DKNY will also be the title sponsor of the dugout lounge, located in the third baseline Champions Suite seating section, which can be accessed by Champions Suite ticket holders in Sections 27B, 28 and 29, as well as by all Legends Suite ticket holders. The DKNY Lounge allows the above-mentioned ticket holders to dine in “DKNY-style” and watch the game on high-definition televisions, featuring DKNY-branded footage on rotation.

Mark Weber, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Donna Karan International, said, “Donna Karan created DKNY to capture the spirit of New York and the people who live here, including the most successful baseball team in history, the Yankees. This unique sponsorship gives DKNY a direct way to reach the consumer and also provides enormous visibility among a loyal, passionate audience—the millions of fans who visit Yankee Stadium each year and the many millions more who watch Yankees games on television.”

As part of the sponsorship, DKNY will work with the Yankees to identify cooperative partnership opportunities, such as developing special premiums for the DKNY Lounge, community-focused charitable programs and marketplace activation initiatives.

“We are excited about our relationship with worldwide-known fashion brand, DKNY,” said Lonn A. Trost, New York Yankees Chief Operating Officer.

“For the first time, a sponsor in the fashion apparel category will have a significant permanent presence in Yankee Stadium. We believe that DKNY’s heritage in New York is a perfect fit for the New York Yankees.”
