DALLAS, Jun 3, 2010 / FW/ — Sex & the City 2 might have only brought in a disappointing $37.1 million in ticket sales during the four-day Memorial Day weekend, but it is still the big news among the fashion crowd.
Cynthia Nixon, who plays lawyer Miranda Hobbes in the movie, attended the Japanese premiere of Sex & the City 2 at the Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo on June 1st.
For the event, Ms. Nixon wore a custom Calvin Klein Collection midnight blue silk jacquard strapless dress, designed by Francisco Costa, the brands’ Women’s Creative Director. In addition, Ms. Nixon wore navy platform heels, also by Calvin Klein Collection.
In London, last May 27th, Cynthia Nixon looked radiant on the red carpet, wearing a Narciso Rodriguez number and carrying a Nancy Gonzalez Box Clutch in Silver.
Still, it’s not just “the girls” of Sex & the City 2 that looked gorgeous. Ashanti, who attended the Sex and the City 2 premiere at Radio City Hall in New York on May 24th was stunning in a Hernan Lander’s asymmetric dress.
We might be all gaga about SATC2, but there are other movies and one of them is the “A-Team”, a film adaptation of the very popular 1980s TV series about ex-United States Army Special Forces who work as soldiers of fortune while being on the run from the military after being branded as war criminals for a “crime they didn’t commit”.
The movie, starring Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson and Jessica Biel is about a group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed. It is expected to hit theaters on Friday, Jun 11th.
To promote the film, the cast of the movie held a photo call at the Seasons Hotel on June 1, 2010 in Mexico City, Mexico where Jessica Biel who plays Capt. Charisa Sosa was seen wearing a Jason Wu Pre Fall 2010 cashmere and superfine jersey sheath with contrasting burgundy skinny belt.
Speaking of Jason Wu, the young designer dressed Diane Kruger with a custom made fuchsia chiffon wave draped gown with black embroidered Chantilly lace bodice at the Palme d’Or Award Closing Ceremony held at the Palais des Festivals during the 2010 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, May 23rd in Cannes, France. (How could have I missed this?)
Ms. Kruger also carried with her a custom dyed Roger Vivier satin clutch and wore a pair of Christian Louboutin navy satin sandals.
Still at the French Riviera, Jennifer Lopez attended the Monaco F1 Race on May 16th sporting a pair of Roberto Cavalli Eyewear.
And finally, back home here in the U.S., First Lady Michelle Obama was seen wearing a white poplin Moschino shirt with collar bow detail while exiting Air Force One upon arrival at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago on May 28, 2010. This top is from the Moschino Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
