NEW YORK, Sep 11, 2010 / FW/ — The looks from Peter Som’s Spring Summer collection are reminiscent of the mod era. With super mini hems, sky high platforms, floral patterns and girly colors, his collection was fresh and stands out this season.

The show began with looks that were Som’s take on the early 60s, mixing patterns and using silhouettes that accentuated the feminine figure. Bright pinks, purples, turquoises and some light neutrals gave the show a refreshing pop.

I absolutely loved his bouquet pieces-one, a skirt; the other a cape, made of literally hundreds of laser cut tulle petals. Gorgeous texture and contrast!

But the collection wasn’t retro to the point of being outdated; Som used the perfect amount of modern embellishments, accessories, and updates to the classic silhouettes to keep our attention.
