MILAN, Sep 3, 2010 / — Roberto Cavalli fashion is 40 years old and has reached its own particular moment in time. It’s an appropriate moment for telling the story, documenting and recollecting it, reordering this heritage of ideas within a book entitled “Roberto Cavalli”.
A book which illustrates the utmost in glamour and creativity from Cavalli’s world: 200 pages of images, taken by the photographers Mert&Marcus, under the creative direction of Fabien Baron, which present 40 years of sensuality and Cavalli’s style, throught the faces of today’s women.
A direction that can be described as transgressive because it is decisive, uninhibited because it is aware, glamorous because it deliberately heads towards construction, narration, transformation, continual reinvention of femininity, luxury and elegance.
With new images of clothes from 40 years of the most important Roberto Cavalli collections, the book actually tells a story that has restyled itself, collection after collection.
Models and Celebrities, who over the years have personified Cavalli style, have all been called on to play lead roles by Mert&Marcus, the internationally famous photographers who, for several seasons, have shot this fashion house’s most important advertising campaigns. The Book features the most beautiful women of the world: Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen, Natasha Poly, Maria Carla Boscono, Sasha Pivovarova, Lara Stone, Carolyn Murphy, Erin Wasson, Angela Lindvall, Julia Stegner, Karolina Kurkova.
The backstage video is composed of four parts, one for every photographic set location, and a new video will be unveiled every week. On the 29th of September, the day of the book launch in Paris, the entire video will be published.
