NEW YORK, Oct 25, 2010 / FW/ — Innovative and Green – fashion designer Richard Chai and Brooklyn based firm Snarkitecture joined together to create a futuristic design in white carved Styrofoam under New York’s High Line.

Inside the pop-up store installation, Richard Chai menswear, womenswear, and accessories filled the “ice-like glacial” form in niches, shelves, and hand bars.

Part of the Building Fashion series at HL23, the landscape cavern is presented by BOFFO and Spilios Gianakopoulos, where artists and designers meet to create a temporary space and a whole new experience.

“This collaboration shows a true unity of fashion and architecture in that both designs are beautiful and more importantly, Snarkitecture’s concept really highlights Richard Chai’s clothing,” says Gregory Sparks, BOFFO Co-Director.

The best part … after the closing, the Styrofoam will be recycled for insulation by the manufacturer.

Pop-up store is open till October 31, 2010 with store hours from 12:00 NN to 7:00 PM located at 504 West 24th Street.
