DALLAS, Nov 8, 2010 / FW/ — Mathematics: the basis of all sciences; Geometry: branch of mathematics concerned with questions of shapes; Geometric Primitives: the simplest geometric shapes such as cube, cylinder, cone, pyramid and torus.

Two young designers, the founders of Cote, opting to work anonymously at a time fame is the accepted currency of success, chose minimalism as their fashion statement. And in their minimalist world, geometric primitives rule because they are the basis of the higher shapes and forms.

A tube is the basis for a dress, cinched at the waist by a thin belt representing the torus; the sleeves are spline curves while the necklines are half ellipses.

Mathematics and fashion; geometry and style… a subject as old as human civilization continues to define us millennia after millennia.
