MILAN, Feb. 26, 2011 /FW/— Heartfelt was the first word that we thought when we heard where Antonio Marras’ inspiration grew from this season.  He dedicated his collection to his mother, who embodies all women from Nannina to Nannarella.  From an antique photo of her as an orphan child dressed in black, to her wearing her Sunday best with a chic crocodile handbag, elements of his mother’s dress blossomed into a visionary collection.

It was his mother, who together with her seamstress, turned men’s coats into elegant skirt suits.  This inspiration was translated into a 1940s themed collection of boxy jackets with feminine embroidery and stitching details, layered knits with ribbon-tied waists, mixed tweeds and velvets, and beautiful floral silk prints.  Keeping silhouettes below-the-knee and heels high and chunky, Marras created pieces for the perfectly alluring woman.

A touch of fur for class, a touch of sheer for mystery, mostly warm and calm colors with a touch of brightness for fun. This season Marras gave us clothing for the full range of a woman’s needs.
