MILAN, Feb. 26, 2011 /FW/ Ermanno Scervino was another designer who caught the 70s fever this season.  Inspired by the decade flashback, Scervino served up the retro pieces we love seeing, and can’t wait to wear, but all in a modern way.

Starting the show with a touch of fur on the collar, it quickly moved into oversized cardigans buttoned up the back, and slim, cropped trousers.  The balloon sleeves and bell bottom pants were a sure fire flashback to the retro decade, but the innovative bra-backed ruffle top rompers twisted the seventies into today’s era.

We especially loved the monochromatic mod look with matching trousers and tunics, the socks with strappy heels, and the abundance of camel- the new black.  Tons of tweed and belted waists were another on-trend specialty seen at Scervino.  Deconstructed maxi coats in vicuna, knit, and reversible fabric were layered over belted overalls and bell-bottom onesies.

Keeping the color palette warm and neutral, Scervino made sure to add in pops of color like orange, burgundy, ochre, and Klein blue in the quilted bags and other accents.

“Innate glamour.  Rock in the soul.”
