MILAN, Mar 7, 2011/ — Gherardini, the Florentine fashion house established in 1885 and renowned on an international scale, widens its range of products thanks to a license agreement entered into with Antichi Pellettieri for the design, production and distribution of Women’s Footwear Collections.

The duration of this license agreement is three years and its execution will begin with AW 2011-12 Collections, enabling Gherardini to target a production of 10,000 pairs per season for a turnover that should reach 3 million Euros at the end of the three-year term.

The collections will be distributed through the Gherardini marketing network at selected international sales points. Materials and colors will reflect the traditional, creative style that distinguishes the maison’s core business, which includes purses, small leather items and belts, for a total look of class and chic.

Antichi Pellettieri’s footwear division successfully manages other important licenses, such as Missoni, Gian Battista Valli and Sebastian.

Gherardini’s creative director has laid down the guidelines for the first AW 2011-12 Women’s Footwear Collection, which will make its debut at the Micam Shoe Event on schedule from March 6-9, 2011.

The Collection will embody the characteristics that Gherardini’s DNA poured into its core business line, notably the purest of Italian tradition blended with the atmosphere of 1960’s Paris, drawing inspiration from Luis Bunuel’s film Belle de Jour.

“The return of Gherardini in the footwear sector after many years of absence is one of the key elements for the re-launching of the brand”, states with great satisfaction Lorenzo Braccialini, Communication Manager of the Braccialini Group.

“If we want to achieve the total look that Gherardini offered in the 80’s, we must start from the category that is closer to the company’s philosophy, footwear. This way we will be able to offer multi-brand stores a more complete range of products and enrich the assortment of mono-band boutiques and, at the same time, strengthen the brand identity”, Braccialini added.

On the company front, Dadorosa srl (the worldwide licensee of the Gherardini brand entirely controlled by Braccialini srl, which in 2010 achieved an 8% growth compared to the previous year) will soon be incorporated in the Braccialini holding.
