MILAN, Jun 30, 2011/ FW/ — Alessandra Facchinetti, former Creative Director at Gucci and Valentino has teamed up with Pietro Negra of Pinko to launch “Uniqueness”, a new ready-to-wear line that gets past the idea of seasons.

To be unveiled in Paris, Uniqueness’ fresh approach in fashion uses today’s intense technology-induced socio-cultural forces. It will introduce a product distribution system that reflects a pioneering vision and holds all the promise of a remarkable future; where the clothes appear for sale both directly on the Web and through a network of select retailers.

“I’m excited to have the chance to work on such an innovative and unconventional project, where the freedom to interpret the times effectively becomes the brand’s DNA,” says Alessandra Facchinetti.

Best known for her work at Gucci’s prêt-a-porter range, Alessandra Facchinetti earned the right to be called a couturier when she became the Creative Director of Valentino. At both Gucci and Valentino, Ms. Facchinetti had the daunting task of continuing the success of the brands after their iconoclastic directors – Tom Ford at Gucci and Valentino Garavani at Valentino.

Ms. Facchinetti rose to the challenge and helmed Gucci (2004) and Valentino (2008) to a different direction as she made the brands her own while respecting their respective DNAs.

Comments Pietro Negra, who is one of the founders of Cris Conf, the successful Italian fashion company that owns Pinko, “[Uniqueness] captures a technological marketing concept for our generation, stretching to the max a series of assets unique to the creative vision of the Pinko brand, now for the first time merging at a high level of creativity.”
