NEW YORK, Sep 2, 2011/ — Drawing inspiration from the artwork of wildlife photographer John Aiden, and the Chinese ceremony of the New Moon, Malan Breton creates his spring 2012 collection Fantôme.

The collection incorporates the diaphanous movement of ethereal beings while still maintaining Breton’s signature Saville row tailoring.

With textile inspiration from his signature fabrics, Silks in weaves of organza, chiffon, gazaar, and his signature Chinoise metal weave. This season, the runway will feature wildlife photography of John Aiden, brought to life courtesy of Spoonflower.

The show will include Breton’s favorite personal styling elements, beautifully crafted Swiss timepieces by Rado, and specially designed accessories. Shoes by United Nude, and hats by Ellen Christine Millinery, will complete each look. Styled by Lauren Rae Levy to give the ambiance of vintage Avedon circa Funny Face.

This collection encompasses a metamorphosis from the beauty and elegance of Breton’s previous work, into the dark sophistication of Malan Breton Spring 2012 – Fantôme.

A supporter of the arts, Breton knows the importance of incorporating all of Lincoln Center’s artistic elements. The show will open to a theatrical performance of “Le Cygne” by Camille Saint-Saens performed by musicians from Breton’s alma matter the Julliard School, and ballerina Brittney Franklin.

Grande Productions (Broadways Hamlet, La Bete, and Born Yesterday) will direct the theatrical elements of the show, to include a special guest appearance by newly signed Universal Republic recording artist Ariana Grande who is currently starring in the hit Nickelodeon TV show “Victorious”.

Malan Bretons Spring 2012 show, much like the chrysalis that turns into the butterfly, is a story of ascension. The story of closing one chapter of your life in order to understand the opening of another.
Fantôme takes Breton and his signature styling into a new realm.
