NEW YORK, Oct 13, 2011/ FW/ — Unveiling her third handbag collection, Laura Vela was inspired by her younger sister Georgina for Fall 2011/Winter 2012 as the emerging designer translated her sister’s free spirit and rocker vibe into accessories.
There is also a lot of influence from her travels as Laura Vela combined exotic color and fabric such as the texture of the sand, the color of the sunsets and the shapes of the mountains in Argentina.
The youngest of a select group of designers chosen to be part of the Accessories Exhibit at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York in February 2011, Laura Vela’s creations had caught the attention of print and online publications, as well as international celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
