NEW YORK, Dec 9, 2011/ FW/ — Presenting 20 looks for his Pre-Fall 2012 collection, Francisco Costa, Women’s Creative Director for Calvin Klein Collection gave a clear message – chic, urban sensibility is the way to go!
The collection was rooted in a language of essential pieces, many of which were inspired by the timeless design of the trench, but with a bolder silhouette that emphasized the shoulder and waist.
Trench cotton fabrics were also repurposed for t shirts and dresses in cottons, cotton/wool twills, wool felts, light silks and mélange knits.
Jackets, bustiers, sleeveless tops and skirts featured cervo or calf leather paired with either wool felt or silk twill. The neutral palette of auburn, beige, brindle, khaki, lark, and mahogany hues was accented by gunmetal, slate, and black.
Dresses were glamorous with dramatic shapes that were fitted at the waist and bare at the back or in a lace-like knit. Looks were paired with a sexy, sculpted heel in velvet or leather that added an architectural element to the collection.
