NEW YORK, Dec 9, 2011/ —For Pre Fall 2012, Thakoon shows a classically feminine collection with muted shades of soft pastels accented with pops of fuchsia and mustard.
Luxurious fabrics and textures are combined in an unexpected manner that creates three dimensional effects. Such as a cotton poplin shirt dress with cleverly constructed cable knit sleeves and pockets. Rich fabrics include Mélange wool, Mongolian lamb, silk, calfskin, striped mohair, cable knit and cotton poplin.
Dresses and coats are cinched at the waist either by an elastic effect or with pleating at the back which adds volume. Cable knit details seen throughout the collection are carried into the shoes as twisted braiding in ballet flats, loafers, pumps and boots.
