New York, February 11, 2012 – Fashion Week

The runway was dominated by black, navy, and grey: the central color palette offset by pops of bright blues in Rebecca Taylor’s Fall 2012 collection shown on Friday at New York Fashion Week. Shift dresses, leather and chiffon, and the very on-trend use of python prints played part in the autumnal collection. Sequin accents on shirtdresses and peplum waists added a playful, feminine touch. There was a lot of layering with coats and sweaters over shirtdresses mixed with studded leggings. Taylor presented two floor length dresses that were clear crowd favorites offering sensual sheer panels and ethereal movement as the models sauntered down the runway. Think classic downtown New York. Tough, but feminine, the clothes looked very effortless and put together; the models carried the rocker-romance vibe with loose fishtail braids and fur-heeled boots.
