NEW YORK, Jun 8, 2012/ — We know Alexander Skarsgard best as Eric Northman on HBO’s hit series, True Blood. Now, he has a new role, the face of the new fragrance, ENCOUNTER Calvin Klein.

Slated to headline the worldwide advertising campaign for Calvin Klein Fragrances new men’s scent, Alexander Skarsgard will work alongside alongside Lara Stone, who is the face of multiple Calvin Klein brands in promoting ENCOUNTER Calvin Klein beginning September 2012.

The ENCOUNTER Calvin Klein campaign tells the story of unresolved tension and desire between a man and a woman. A modern take on classic film noir, the dark and mysterious creative is left open ended to infinite possibilities. The intriguing and seductive new fragrance creates a contrast of freshness and warmth with crisp spice, warm cognac and sensual woods.

The ENCOUNTER Calvin Klein campaign will be supported by print and television advertising, including a short film version of the television creative that delves further into the encounter between Mr. Skarsgård and Ms. Stone.

It will also introduce a comprehensive digital platform that will capitalize on the brand’s mystery and intrigue. Further details on the ENCOUNTER Calvin Klein digital campaign will be announced in August 2012.

Alexander Skarsgård first captivated critics and audiences in the HBO miniseries, Generation Kill, and was immediately cast in the role of Eric Northman on HBO’s hit series, True Blood.

Currently in the show’s fifth season, he stars alongside Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. Mr. Skarsgård’s recent film credits include Battleship, alongside Liam Neeson and directed by Peter Berg; the award-winning Melancholia, opposite Kirsten Dunst and directed by Lars Von Trier; and Rod Lurie’s remake of Straw Dogs. Mr. Skarsgård will also star in the upcoming films, The East, opposite Brit Marling and Ellen Page; What Maisie Knew with Julianne Moore and Steve Coogan; and Disconnect, alongside Paul Patton, Jason Bateman and Andrea Riseborough.
