NEW YORK, Sep 15, 2012/ — Enter a deep, dark cave with digitized lights morphing into psychedelic colors and neon rainbows, and the show begins. Sporty chic meets street style in Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 spring/summer 2013 collection.

Now on its 10th year, Y-3 is the collaboration between designer Yohji Yamamoto and adidas, which started in 1982 as an attempt at elegant sportswear you can easily take from the gym to the street.

Loose fitting sportswear in solid black and white sauntered down the runway topped with a baseball cap to add some edge. The theme was “walking back into the future” signaling loose knee length unisex shorts and mesh dresses for women, all complete with the iconic Adidas three-stripe logo that could be found incorporated in a variety of ways in almost every look in the collection.

For the color lovers out there don’t worry…Yohji incorporated a fair share of tropical prints. The collection is rounded out quite nicely from anoraks, sweats, leggings, tracksuits, and even mesh parkas floating in the mix.

The silhouette of the collection is loose and free from the body, adding to the overall sporty aesthetic. This is definitely a collection that will have you WANTING to be seen after you leave the gym.
