NEW YORK, December 18, 2012/ FW/ — Entitled ‘Abstract Expressionism’, designer, Lela Rose was inspired by the Abstract Expressionist artist Clyfford Still’s use of jagged edges, various vibrant colors, and his dripped paint aesthetic for her Pre-Fall collection.

"Lela Rose Pre-Fall 2013"

The Lela Rose Pre-Fall 2013 evokes Abstract Expressionism through the designer’s use of plaid and painted prints, as well as floral textured fabrics including looks such as a lady-like lace seamed bodice dress with a full skirt, a plaid caplet dress with an asymmetrical neckline, a paneled textured jacquard shawl collar jacket, and a floral spotted organza peplum dress with an illusion neckline.

Hues in the collection consist of magenta, amethyst, tangerine, ivory, navy, charcoal, camel, and black.
