NEW YORK, Dec 13, 2012/ — With the interest on the latest interpretation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” high, fashionistas are also becoming engrossed with the looks of decades past.

Cameron Silver

And speaking of the past 11 decades, a.k.a. the 20th century, Cameron Silver, owner of “Decades”, the renowned vintage boutique on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles wrote the book, Decades: A Century of Fashion wherein he commited all his sartorial knowledge to paper.

In an over-sized, visually stunning book, Cameron silver devoted ten chapters to the iconic looks of a decade. Josephine Baker and Zelda Fitzgerald show off their legs in the 20s; Jackie O embodies feminine polish in the 60s; Calvin Klein’s minimalism meets Jacobs’ grunge remix in the 90s.

When it was hot off the presses last October, Marina B and Dita Von Teese celebrated Cameron Silver and “Decades: A Century of Fashion” with an invitation-only dinner at the Chateau Marmont.

Continuing the celebration of DECADES launch, last Tuesday, MAC Cosmetics and Cameron Silver curated vintage looks at MAC Cosmetics brand new flagship store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

Each model donned a designer look from a different decade, styled by Cameron Silver, while MAC Cosmetics’ Gordon Espinet led the team of artists in showcasing nostalgic makeup looks to match.
