Fashion Windows: What was the theme/inspiration for your Fall 2013 collection?

Rebecca Taylor: I was very much inspired by architecture for this collection, I had been reading a lot about Frank Lloyd Wright at the time so I wanted the pieces to have a structural feel.

FW: What were your favorite materials and hues in your Fall 2013 collection?

RT: The silks, leathers (and how we mixed them to create contrast) and blushy pinks, cognacs, and scarlets.

FW: What is your favorite piece in the collection?

RT: I have so many but I am really keen on a tweed and leather dress we did, it’s ladylike with a bit of an edge.

FW: What inspires you to design?

RT: I am inspired by so many things! Literature, film, art, people, New York City.

FW: What has been the best moment of your career thus far?

RT: I’ve been lucky enough to have many great moments, but a top moment was definitely when Catherine Middleton wore our tweed suit. The girls in my office taped the picture to the front desk so I would see it as soon as I walked in, they know I’m a big fan of hers.
