Rebecca Minkoff and Nordstrom Turn to Tumblr to Look For Next Big Artistic Talent

REBECCA MINKOFF Dinner to Celebrate Launch of Denim Collection, Produced by Jung Lee.DALLAS, Jul 18, 2013/ — Rebecca Minkoff breaks new ground once again, and this time it is with Nordstrom and Tumblr as the three collaborate to launch the first ever talent discovery contest in Tumblr.

A popular blogging platform, Tumblr has been the launching pads of many amazing artistic talent from if over 120 million users. Rebecca Minkoff wants to give these talents an opportunity to shine on a global level by joining up with Nordstrom.

Aspiring talent can email submissions to tumblr@rebeccaminkoff.com now through July 25, 2013. The winners will be announced on July 30th, 2013 by the panel of judges including Rebecca Minkoff, David
Karp (Founder/CEO of Tumblr) and Jeffrey Kalinsky (Executive Vice President of Designer Merchandising
for Nordstrom).

The winning T-shirt and tote designs will be sold September 6, 2013 in Nordstrom stores nationwide and online on Nordstrom.com and RebeccaMinkoff.com, which is the same day that the T- shirt walks down the runway during the Spring 2014 Rebecca Minkoff runway show during New York Fashion Week, ultimately shifting the fashion cycle.

“My main purpose in doing this contest is to give talent on Tumblr a voice and an opportunity to be discovered. I am also excited by the opportunity of providing my customers the exciting, groundbreaking initiative of buying my product the same day they see it on the runway; this is really groundbreaking!,” Minkoff said of the partnership.

The chosen artist will get a cash prize and have their graphic T-shirt featured in Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring 2014 runway show during New York Fashion Week. The selected model will get a cash prize, and have the opportunity to star in a fashion campaign for Rebecca Minkoff and Nordstrom, starring the winning Tumblr T-shirt and tote designs.
