Nicole Richie ensured her fashion credentials were not questioned when hosting the tenth annual Style Awards in New York City on September 4th, kicking off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with multiple different outfit changes that proved she knows what’s hot.
The designer walked onto the red carpet channelling matador-chic in her two-piece Antonio Berardi ensemble. With her hair sleek and makeup minimalistic, she wore a black, studded, long-sleeved crop top with plenty of sparkle. The effortlessly-cool loose fit just revealed her toned midriff, and created an interesting silhouette.
She coordinated with the matching black velvet ankle-grazers featuring a studded belt, and completed the look with Vivienne Westwood double-strap heels with a stylish squared-off toe, through which her rosary bead ankle tattoo could be seen. Check out this outfit and more from the event in this Metro gallery.
Recreate her look by wearing this studded Armani Jeans knit with fiercely tailored trousers and killer heels in black satin. Accessorise with silver rings and earrings, keeping your hair super straight and your makeup understated.
Nicole also wore a Giorgio Armani silver jumpsuit covered with glittering embellishments. An elasticated waist, pointed structured shoulders and a high collar gave her shape, while large pockets and stylish bust cut-out detailing gave the textured outfit that added wow factor.
Don’t be afraid to try the metallic look yourself – it was hugely popular on the spring 2013 runways. Try a silver skirt or top and keep the colour theme throughout using accessories. Pair with black leather or crisp white to really nail the trend.

The Style Awards host also stepped out in a Marc Jacobs Resort 2014 dress with black and gold sequinned vertical stripes. She drew attention to the deep-V neckline by scooping her hair back and accessorising with a gold choker necklace.
Fashion icon Nicole also took to the Style Awards stage in a deep coral, ruched Azzaro floor-length gown with gold, metallic spaghetti straps. She added a delicate double-chained gold necklace, a matching shade of lipstick and hair extensions for a super sleek finish.
