Azzaro Couture and Ateliers Collection The Azzaro House draws its inspiration from the iconic Studio 54, the boundless hedonism that electrified the whole of New York, from Grace Jones to Diana Ross and Bianca Jagger… From the iconoclastic style that made this quintessential place mythical, Maxime Simoëns retains the idea of a sophisticated look, tinged with euphoria and non-conformism.

A spectacular reinterpretation of an eclectic fashion, this new collection mixes, with the same eulogy of splendor, the House’s references to the night’s sartorial exuberance.

Maxime Simoëns plays on the contrast of shapes and proportions to instill an architectural dimension into the elegance of radical lines. The “build” grows in volume. The streamlined shoulders of masculine jackets oppose the sensuality of vertiginous necklines. Bold slits enhance the fluidity of slender pencil dresses, oversized bows break the rigor of short and immaculate bustier dresses with perfect technical mastery.

Azzaro refines women in the very design of the creations, paved with crystals and pearls, adorned with splashes of glitter, stitched with sequins, decked with embroidery or metallic nails. Stars are in the limelight, constellating an eco fur cape, a black velvet jacket intensified with silver bordering or the tulle top of a jumpsuit with an airy cape. House signatures, the dresses drape and pleat while a caftan opts for the accumulation of sequined, dazzling fringes.

This shimmering effect is heightened by the choice of noble materials that are as scintillating as they are Couture. Azzaro plays on the contrasts of opacity/transparency and lightness/structure by skillfully mixing the suppleness and sinuousness of fabrics such as velvet, leather, jacquard or lurex taffeta with delicate silk, diaphanous muslin, chrysalis organza, or carved eco fur.

Bowler hats bring a sulphurous breath of allusion to Stanley Kubrick/ A Clockwork Orange. The chromatic palette favours dark materials. Faithful to the spirit of the House, black, midnight blue, burgundy or a deep green serve as a showcase to reveal the goldsmith’s work of embroideries with metallic reflections. A touch of stones and crystals of emerald green, violet or gold come to rhythm the pieces.

Beauty, sophistication and glamor transpire in this sensual collection that elegantly pays homage to Andy Warhol‘s casual and surreal New York style, dear to Loris Azzaro and his iconic muses of the night.
