Presenting their Fall/Winter 2019 collection on Wall Street, Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk. designing under their own label AREA continue to explore the duality and contrast between the conservative context of the 1960s and the escapism that symbolizes the 1970s.

Renowned for their playful, whimsical aesthetic, this season Area elevates construction and design whle masterfully combining maximalism with wearability. Creating the clothes in in opulent volumes and textures, this style reveals the designers’ excellence in technique and craft.

Travelling from the 60s to the 70’s the graphic black and white prints are contrasted with a rich color scheme of magenta and hot pink, neon orange and crimson morph into tie-dye printed on leather and stretch lame taking the “proper” into something more psychedelic.

A literal “Powerplay” slogan print can read as a statement on current contemporary culture, is shown on oversized scarves and figuratively on proportions and volumes with body suits, micro dresses and oversized hand-knit cable fringed sweaters.

Intricate hand-crafted Preciosa crochet poncho and bohemian aprons are translated into rainbow crystal body jewelry garments becoming disco couture.

Natural Boho vibes from Mongolian lamb coats, bustiers, moonboots and detailing are amped up by double dye dipping them in hot pink and purple.

Always strong in accessories, this season Area proposes an even wider range. Preciosa crystal necklaces, headpieces and arm bands. Handbags are crafted out of leather pipings resembling vintage furniture.

Shoes ranging from duchesse satin mulesm knee, ankle and platform boots, signature patent leather heels…

All these contrasts collide together into the new world of Area where a Neo cyber bohemian meets sleek modernism.
