For the new advertising campaign, Balenciaga hires the creative talent of Jean-Pierre Attal. The artist, famous for using photography as a form to portray contemporary urban society and decipher its multiple facets and paradoxes, chooses to recreate his 2012 project Ethnographic Landscapes.

In his original work Attal transported the “man on the street” to non-urban environments such as forests and beaches. The same thing happens in the shots for Balenciaga except that this time the location is the desert of Morocco and Lanzarote, while the protagonist is a cast of models that cast includes Lei Qin,Samuel Wilken, Takato Harashima, Shanelle Nyasiase, Une Jonynaite, all wearing the items of the FW19 collection designed by Demna Gvasalia. Styling, as always, by Lotta Volkova.
