The Catholic school girl meets a Lolita cosplayer in the Dice Kayek Fall 2020 collection. Titled “The Dark Side of the Cute,” changing it to “The Dark Side of Kawaii,” kawaii being the Japanese word of cute.
Incidentally, kawaii is also defined as “the culture of cuteness in Japan.” The kawaii aesthetic is a big part of the Japanese pop culture. Dice Kayek mixed European sensibilities to the cosplay world and came up with wearable and actually “cute” outfits.
