DUBAI, Dec 19, 2013/ — Dubai is placing itself on the fashion map with Fashion Forward (FFWD), the UAE’s equivalent of fashion week where home-grown design talents are celebrated.
Now on its third season, FFWD continues to expand its foothold in the international fashion scene while firmly positioning itself within the region. Hence, today’s announcement that FFWD will hold its third edition from April 10-13, 2014 was not a surprise. Rather, it was expected.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the FFWD journey than our first two seasons,” said Founder and CEO of FFWD, Bong Guerrero. “As we look ahead to 2014, we continue to grow and adapt, and strive to provide the finest platform upon which our regional designers can showcase their talents.”
Season Two, which took place from the 15th-18th October this year, saw over 15,000 people visit FFWD from across the region throughout the four day event. Over 11,000 guests watched the 21 full-capacity catwalk shows, displaying the designs of 23 of the finest couture and ready-to-wear designers from Saudi, Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait, Oman and the wider UAE.
Season Three will look to showcase a wider pool of regional talent. Key announcements will be made in the coming months on what to expect for the third season.
