DALLAS, Feb 2, 2009 / FW/ — New York-based designer Karen Sabag is on a roll. In the last week, she garnered the title of Best in Show in the Supima runway for emerging designers. The award winning bridal gown, which was made Cotonifico Albini Marcella and poplin shirting, closed the show.

Last December she was a prestigious submission in the Viennese Opera Ball pre fashion show Gala at the Austrian Consulate, where she presented her spectacular mask in tandem with her exquisite scarlet evening gown and opera cape. The mask was decorated with pearls and Swarovski crystals. The masks were created especially for the Opera Ball’s online auction with Charity Buzz.com.

Known for her use of the most luxurious fabrics – lace, chiffon, Chantilly lace and silk satins, Karen creates her extraordinary evening gowns and one-of-a-kind bridal gowns in her own atelier at Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn.

And, it was right there where Karen created her Fall 2009 collection that is inspired with “The Dance with Nature.” The clothes are the interpretation of the movement of the trees in the forest and the juxtaposition of the movement of classical ballet dancers. It will be unveiled on Sunday, February 15, 2009 during New York Fashion Week.
