NEW YORK, Feb 12, 2006/ FW/ — Araks is all about barely there color with a wonderful shoe. Nothing can look wrong with a Christian Louboutin pump. As the models for Araks took to the runway in these spectacular pumps, the show began with two seal and antique silk crepe numbers.

The collection was not about color but more about a New York winter. Key silhouettes were the bubble skirts with large pleats and large wide leg pants. These pants are seemingly a reoccurring trend for next winter. Sometimes high-waisted and often with pleated fronts, women will be reliving the days of comfort ability yet with a sense of restriction at the waist.

A lot of nighties and lingerie pieces made it to the runway and they captivated the audience. A few bra and panty sets in pale pinks, nude and black were notable. A one-piece lavender romper was eye catching underneath a simple sweater.

The wool tweed shorts and skorts were single pieces that could stand on their own. Who knew that the skort was still being manufactured, but Arak is bringing it back in a longer length and more hidden in navy. The short shorts will be a key look for next winter as well.

There was an unmistakable ease and comfort to the entire collection. So many simple silhouettes in nice cashmeres and citrine cottons. It takes only one piece to make a collection dazzle and the skort has done just that for Araks.
