The native population of Andorra is small in comparison to the immigrants and workers from Spain, Portugal and France as well as the retirees from at least a dozen countries. Approximately 65,000 people live full time in Andorra and approximately half of them live in the capital city of Andorra La Vella.
With the annual influx of tourists in millions, shopping is a favorite pastime, arguably ranking just behind hiking and skiing.
The two main department stores are Pyrenees Grans Magazem and Escale. Both allow the shopper conveniences including grocery shopping and buying pastries and bread at the same time you are shopping for fashion items and electronics.
It is one stop shopping if you aren’t inclined to boutique hopping.
