Mac Millan Spring 2009

NEW YORK, August 14, 2008 / FW/ — Preempting the Womenswear Spring 2009 season, London-based designer Jane McMillan chose to show her collection to the press and buyers via a presentation that spans three continents within a four-month period.

Currently being shown in London (11th August to 4th September), the next stop for Mac Millan Spring 2009 collection entitled “From Scotland with Love…” will be New York (6th to 8th September) just in time for fashion week, then Dallas (9th to 20th September) back to London (23rd September to 24th October) and finally Tokyo (29th October to 3rd November).

Inspired by her Scottish heritage, designer Jane McMillan created an intoxicating mélange of bold architectural and geometric patterns fused with conceptual florals.

Fresh, innovative shapes that personify audacious femininity were created with silk crepe de chine, jersey and chiffon. The collection, incorporating relaxed cocktail and day dresses, showcases diaphanous chiffon balloon silhouettes, egg shapes, voluminous skirts, quirky folds, pleat detail and charming drapes.
