PARIS, Sep 30, 2008 / FW / — It’s always a treat seeing a Cher Michel Klein collection. Aside from witnessing the unveiling of a new collection, Michel Klein also has the knack of being able to make you smile with his very chic pieces.

One of the few French designers who have captured the elusive French elegance, Michel Klein also understands how the French woman dresses. Though they are very careful on how they dress, to the outside world, they want to project an image of nonchalance.

When you admire a girl on the beautiful clothes she is wearing, the cliché answer is ‘Oh, this old thing I just put on.’ Chances are a Frenchwoman was the first one who said that.

So, for Spring 2009, Michel Klein proposed floral mini skirts with flared skirts. You have two choices – a drop down waist that ends either in sheer skirt or bias cut to add fluidity to the silhouette; or an hourglass silhouette that is sometimes cinched at the waist with a belt.

Standout includes a golden trench coat with exaggerated shoulders and sewn in belt. Done in khaki, corset closures were used as embellishments.

Michel Klein dressed his ladies from sun up to sundown, recommending cocktail dresses encrusted with Swarovski crystals and a halter neck floor length gown with a deep V-neckline and braided fabric as cummerbund.
