DALLAS, Dec 2, 2008 / FW/ — The U.S. is officially in recession according to the nonpartisan National Bureau of Economic Research, charged with making the call for the history books. According to the New York Times, crude oil futures for January delivery fell $4.54, to $49.88 a barrel.

The same New York Times article mentioned that stocks in Europe and most of Asia moved lower as investors refocused on a gloomy economic outlook. More than ever, retailers need to be creative in attracting customers. And Thomas Voorn might be what they are looking for to give them that extra edge.

Based in London, Thomas Voorn developed the clothing alphabet in 2006, and in turn invented Garment Graffiti, wherein he creates messages and displays using his alphabet to create garment graffiti in the most obvious and unexpected places; from brick walls and alleys to sun kissed fields.

His latest project is ‘A Designers Poem for B Store at 24a Savile Row W1 London, which runs from 4th December 2008 to January 2009.

Mixing and matching fashion brand names that are sold at B Store (Cosmic Wonder, Hans Christian Madsen, Opening Ceremony), Voorn lifted the holiday spirit in the store with the slogan ‘COSMIC CHRISTIAN CEREMONY’, words from the brands.

Also see at 24a Savile row, “A Designers Poem” by Thomas Voorn in garment graffiti that says:

WELCOME TO B

bless bi-la-li linda
bec bernhard natalia

brilli batten doma
brinks back diana

This poem is based on the brands being sold at B Store: Bernhard Willhelm, Natalia Brilli, Linda Farrow, Ian Batten, Bi-la-li, Christine Bec, Damir Doma, Diana Brinks, Bless, Ann-sofie Back)
