Nominees & Honorees for the 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards Announced

DALLAS, Mar 18, 2009 / FW/ — Get ready for fashion’s biggest night. Marc Jacobs, Kate & Laura Mulleavy for Rodarte, and Narciso Rodriguez – one of them will be named Womenswear Designer of the Year. Michael Bastian, Scott Sternberg for Band of Outsiders, and Italo Zucchelli for Calvin Klein are nominated for Menswear Designer of the Year.

Slated on Jun 15, 2009, the gala night, which is generously being underwritten by Swarovski for the eight year in a row, will be held at the Alice Tully Hall at New York’s Lincoln Center. The official announcement of nominees and honorees was made Monday night at an exclusive event hosted by Swarovski and the CFDA Board of Directors at the Rooftop Gardens at Rockefeller Center.

2009 Honoree: Ed Nardoza, Editor-in-Chief, Women’s Wear Daily

International Award: Awarded to a designer working outside of America who has made an outstanding creative contribution to the world of fashion.

2009 Honoree: Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton

Board of Directors’ Special Tribute: A special tribute by the Board of Directors of the CFDA, given from time to time to acknowledge significant contributions and commitment to fashion.
