PARIS, Mar 11, 2009 / FW/ — Last Saturday, at the Roberto Cavalli store opening here in Paris, the third floor has a special nook featuring canine plush toys and dog clothing was tucked away in the most luxurious area of the boutique.
Guests who visited the area were already planning to come back the next day to purchase these precious items and several was heard saying that Roberto Cavalli should launch a pet line because the dog plush toys, their clothes, their leash and carrying bags are just too real!
Well, their wish just became reality. The Florentine designer announced yesterday the Roberto Cavalli Pets, a collection entirely devoted to man’s best friend. Inspired from Eva Cavalli’s enduring love for animals, the new Roberto Cavalli pets will cater to small and medium sized dogs.
True to the house’s spirit, the collection is characterized by an animal print motif. The jaguar print,
called “Paws”, is seen anew with small paws instead of spots and is used not only on all garment but also on linings and details.
The collection consists of stylish pieces such as jersey or printed fleece t-shirts and velour tracksuits, as well as classic garments such as polo-shirts, sweaters and puffer jackets. Key pieces in the collection consist of a satin-trimmed bathrobe, silk printed shorts and some shearling jackets.
There are also some essential accessories: the quilted dog carrier bag with patent finish and satin lining, a patent leather passport wallet, and patent collars and leashes with the “Paws” print on the reverse side. Special edition items such as bowls, beds and jewels are in the works.
The Roberto Cavalli Pet line is available in sizes XS to M. Upon request custom made pieces can be made for larger sized dogs.
