Two FIFI Awards Facebook friends will be randomly selected to win a FIFI Top 10 Sampler Gift Bag with almost 100 perfumes represented. $700 – $1000)

Sponsored by the Fragrance Foundation, the annual FIFI Awards honors the Best Fragrance of the Year and other categories. Attended by nearly 1000 industry executives, it is the biggest event in the fragrance world.

On Friday, April 24, 2009 at 8:30 AM, the annual FIFI Awards Finalist Breakfast will be held at the The Mandarin Oriental Hotel at West 61st Street, New York City wherein the industry gathers to hear who’s been nominated into the TOP 5 of 20 competitive award categories.

These winners then go into contention, another round of final voting and elimination. Only one can take the title Best Fragrance of the Year. The winners of each category will then be announced at the May 27, 2009 Red Carpet Gala at the Downtown Armory attended by industry VIPs and many internationally renowned celebrities.

The Fragrance industry is a $6.5 billion a year industry in the United States with the New York Metropolitan area is the center of the Fragrance Industry. There are over 75 fragrance industry corporate offices in the New York metropolitan area.

Virtually all of the media reporting on fragrance is based in New York City (magazines, newspapers, T.V. and radio).

The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), with 12,000 students, is theonly school in the world offering a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing. It is supported by the fragrance industry under the direction of the Cosmetic/Fragrance/Toiletries ACTION Council) and includes an internship and mentor program as well as placement opportunities. FIT also offers the Master Studies (MPS) Program in Cosmetics and Fragrances Marketing and Management, the only program of its kind in the United States.

New York City is the headquarters of The Fragrance Foundation, a nonprofit educational organization, established in 1949.
