NEW YORK, Sep 16, 2009 / FW/ — If there were less celebrity sightings in other parts of the world, it’s because most of them are in New York attending fashion week.

Innovative denim brand G-Star that its unveiled their NY RAW Spring/Summer 2010 Collection at the Hammerstein Ballroom last night attracted the glitterati so much that there was a paparazzi mayhem.

The front row at G-Star consisted of Juliette Lewis, Lindsay Lohan, Taylor Momsen, Ryan Kwanten, Jared Leto, Elettra Wiedemann, Mena Suvari, Alan Cumming, Kara DioGuardi, Christian Siriano, Cat Deeley, Kat von D, Katrina Bowden, Ryan Adams, Corbin Bleu, Frederique van der Wal, Matthew Settle, Damien Fahey, Eric Balfour, Peaches Geldof, Asher Books, Walter Perez, Miss J. Alexander, Byrdie Bell, Yfke Sturm and Tyson Beckford.

Presenting the brand’s luxury to street aesthetic, the G-Star atelier demonstrated their signature denim craftsmanship with architectural techniques for pants and sophisticated tailoring for jackets and tops thus creating entirely new silhouettes to a full capacity audience.

Washes encompassed the complete life-cycle of denim, from the darkest raw through bright blues and bleached to non-dyed ecru.

The combination of denim with breezily light materials in blues, whites and custom prints showed the unmatched adaptability of G-Star’s core fabric and gave the collection a cool, high-summer feel, which by the way received oohs and aahs from the glittering front row.

Meanwhile at the tents at Bryant Park, photographers were busy shooting the arrivals of Lauren Conrad, Leighton Meester and Olivia Thirlby.
