DALLAS, Aug 24, 2010 / — Dallas Market Center, the world’s most complete wholesale resource, announced “The Next Big Give,” a national search for specialty retailers that are giving back in their communities through volunteering, raising funds or donating goods.

Whether spending time serving at a local food bank, holding a fundraising event to benefit a worthy cause, or collecting goods for an organization in need – retailers generously help improve their communities.

“Retailers across the country are doing so much for their communities and we want to hear their stories,” said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center. “We look forward to honoring those that are making a big difference as they offer inspiration to other retailers.”

Ten finalists will be announced on January 10, 2011 and two winners on February 14, 2011.

The winners will receive a complimentary trip to Dallas, Texas to attend a Market (March 24-27, 2011) at the world’s most complete wholesale marketplace. Both home and gift as well as apparel and accessories lines are available during the Market. In addition to round-trip airfare from anywhere in the continental U.S., the winners will receive three nights hotel stay.

While at Market, The Next Big Give winners will be recognized during the 2nd annual The Inspired Event, a cocktail party and silent auction benefiting a charitable cause. The winners will share their stories of giving back in hopes to inspire others to do the same.

Retailers may nominate themselves or be nominated by their customers, business contacts, family or friends. The application is available at www.dallasmarketcenter.com/give. Deadline for applications is December 6, 2010.

The contest is open to specialty retailers operating their stores in the continental U.S. The finalists and winners will be selected by a panel of industry experts and Market Center representatives.
