Atelier

NICE, Jun 1, 2011/ — This season, Façonnable once again delivers fresh ideas percolating with our unmistakable French identity. Faconnable has put together a masterful spring/summer Collection that reflects the contemporary spirit of today without abandoning the valuable traditions that have made the label synonymous with style and taste for more than half a century.

From its premiere Collection, Atelier, to Blue and all our other special lifestyle Collections, Façonnable’s spring lineup is rigorous in its attention to detail, but elegantly relaxed in spirit. Superb colors, fantastic fabrications and contemporary fits make our Collections a pleasure to behold and even more pleasurable to wear, much like an afternoon in the South of France.

Here, a sneak peak at what next summer has in store.

Atelier: a master class in style, subtlety and exceptional elegance

High above the French town of Hyères you’ll find the modernist Villa Noailles. Built in the1920s, the architectural jewel features a stunning cubist garden designed by Gabriel Gueverkian.

It is here, in the graphic and welcoming grounds where we begin Atelier’s summer journey. Imagine a late June cocktail with Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Marc Allegret and other notable early 20 century figures. Art, literature and the finer things of life are being discussed over cool drinks and impeccable clothes.

Dolce Vita

For spring, Atelier channels the nonchalant perfection of these men and their masterful style. Colors, like dusty plums and faded blues pull from the sun-bleached hues of the Mediterranean. Silhouettes are loser, slightly voluminous, but still completely tailored. From cotton cashmere crewnecks to raw-edged unlined jackets to silk linen suits and a supple leather blouson, the handcrafted line-up is as luxurious as it is relaxed.

Dolce Vita: Signature Appeal. Endless Possibilities

The main Blue Collection begins with a fresh riff on the “Sweet life,” à la française. Inspired by the chicest corners of the Cote d’Azur, Dolce Vita is designed for an international man who works as hard as he plays.

Monday through Friday he’s in sartorial separates, but come the weekend he unwinds in playfully tailored pieces, like linen jackets with elbow patches, poplin safari shirt jackets with rain resistant hoods, contrast trim cardigans and striped T-shirts accented with special badges.

Set in a palette of neutrals, Dolce Vita is cut from fine, functional fabrics, including double-sided coated cotton, washed linen, cotton twill and supple suede.

Blue Mood

When it comes to the women’s Collection, Dolce Vita offers a contemporary spin on feminine classics. Utilitarian and pretty, the summer offering delves into timeless silhouettes, like short caban jackets, and then renders them modern and packable thanks to removable collars.

Exclusive prints give the Collection a singular imprint and functional fabrics, like nylon, lyocell and elastan cotton imbibe items with energy. Dolce Vita is a sweetly sophisticated approach to dressing.

Blue mood: Confident and Crisp Clothing for Every Occasion

Decisive, notable and supremely confident, Blue Mood crackles with contemporary optimism. From chambray to cerulean, Yves Klein to navy, Blue delivers an engaging spectrum of one of fashion’s most versatile, upbeat colors.

Patchwork shirts offset with optical white, plaid shorts and sporty cotton caps are just part of the refined casual lineup, while reengineered blazers, crisp button downs, quilted vests and slim chinos round out the spirited sartorial section.

As always, fabrics are premium, with a special focus on water resistant materials, like FacoRain and Metis.

Women will find that Blue Mood also suits their mood. Cotton-linen is used in series of sportif dresses, smartly tailored separates and flirty skirts. While a new cotton blend informs the stylish prints of dresses and skirts.

Nice Jazz: Energetic and Gregarious Separates for Colorful Moments

Technicolor flashes give Nice Jazz a vibrant point of view. Like the famous festival held in the South of France, Nice Jazz is a rousing arrangement of singular sartorial style. Block color, striped linen, cool seersucker and lightweight nylon inform this decidedly exuberant Collection.

From zip-front jackets with candy stripes and contrast sleeves to patch pocket colorful shorts and T-shirts with floral prints, Nice Jazz gives new meaning to a pop of color. An explosion of hues, the Collections stays in control thanks to timeless silhouettes, like double-breasted blazers, and streamlined cuts, like straight-leg chinos.

On the women’s side, color and pattern are also paramount. An enticing mix of stretch cotton, silk and cotton, and linen come to life in Liberty-style prints, striped shirts, detailed outerwear and contrast-trim, twin sets. Nice Jazz is the perfect summer style soundtrack.

Azur: More than just swim essentials, Azur is complete holiday style

Dive in. The water is fine. With Azur, beach going essentials keep you in style even when you’re wet. Façonnable’s design team started with a new logo—a bird carrying a surfboard over Façonnable’s signature stripes.

From there, the team applied special printing techniques to swim trunks, which have functional back pockets and come in two lengths—a 48 cm model, and a sportier, shorter 39.5 cm version. Graphic cotton crewneck T-shirts and printed button-front shirts round out the holiday-ready Collection.
