NEW YORK Sept 28,2011 /FW/- A strong presence this Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week was a trend in scuba inspiration. It was the Spring 2012 collection of VPL by Victoria Bartlett that took center stage. Maintaining the signature athletic aesthetic, the label found new ways to style on top . The vibe was modern and consisted of techno fabrications in neon pastels.
Key colors were the latest version of coral, kelly green and aqua blue. The vibrant shades paired nicely with the neutralcream, khaki and black canvas. Foam fabrications ofseparates, swim wear and hoodies were all over the runway. Geometrically inspired, straight dresses were worn over multi colored techno leggings. Suits and swim wear peeked through wide knit sweaters and cardigans. Aquatic skyline prints were wrapped and draped as novelty tops and dresses. The offering was sporty, modest and at times reminiscent of the 80’s.
Stylist already lust over the VPL’s accessories. Colorful braided necklaces and rope belts were the finishing touch to just about all looks. Bandeau tops, mesh bras and body suits these ladies were ready for jet skies. Colorful grew to neutral as cream and khaki tones concluded the runway. If one collection brought Miami to New York it was VPL by Victoria Bartlett.
