NEW YORK FASHION WEEK — September 10th, 2012
What do you get when you take a 1960s – 1970s glamorous gal + today’s chicest socialite? Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection. After seeing the show, the first words that come to my mind are confidence, jet-setter, and feminine. Minkoff’s collection was inspired by the iconic photographs taken by Slim Aarons who was famous for capturing such celebrities. The collection has a little something for everyone. The first few looks were perfect for the resort-goer with whites and florals. Next, a classic pair of blue jeans with a classic, crisp white blouse. Tweed blazers and matching short-shorts for the sophisticate, and floral jumpsuits for the girl with mad style.
Blues, aqua, poppy red, green, and indigo are a sampling of colors from the palette of this collection. Much to the surprise of the audience Minkoff brought back the romper and overalls with sexy shapes and fabrics that will have you wondering why they ever went out of style. Each look captured the unmistakable cool confidence of a girl who just KNOWS she looks incredible. Each ensemble was easy to wear, and something that each woman could see herself putting on for a day or night out on the town making that breeze of cool confidence available to you, the wearer. I’m already anxious for next Spring!
Spotted at the show:
Who was in the front row? None other than Ryan Lochte, Jamie Chung, Lauren Conrad, Tika Sumpter, and Kristin Chenoweth.
