PARIS, Oct 3, 2008 / FW — Known for her alternative vision of fashion, Sharon Wauchob sent out a very polished collection that was inspired by an embroidered vintage lace hairnet.
Giving a nod to the black & white trend, Wauchob proposed twisted, ruched or puckered black and beige lace as the main fare for spring with gray and white as the alternate colors.
Literally wrapping the body with the material, Wauchob layered the lace, thus though she was showing a lot of skin, it is not vulgar. Very little embellishment was used because the fabrications on the lace gave the garment shape, volume and texture.
It could not be called minimalist though. In fact, sometimes, it could be said that Sharon Wauchob actually overdid some of them, which thankfully did not blur the designer’s fashion statement. It was a tight and directional collection.
