MOSCOW, Nov 6, 2008 / FW/ — From Oct 28 – Nov 4, 2008, Moscow celebrated the Russian Fashion Week Spring 2009 season with Princess HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand cutting the ceremonial ribbon at the venue, then kicking off the Eastern European season with the presentation of SIRIVANNAVARI Spring / Summer 2009, the same collection that she unveiled in Paris early October.

For 8 days, 65 fashion designers from Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Latvia, Spain and Italy presented spring/summer 2009 collections on main RFW venue at the World Trade Center in downtown Moscow.

Tatiana Parfionova, Julia Dalakian, Oleg Ovsiev for Viva Vox, Lena Makashova, Chistova&Endourova, Katia Mossina, Chari, Timati for Sprandi, Arsenicum, BIRYUKOV, POUSTOVIT, Alexander Arngoldt, and Egor Zaitsev, among others, designers of Russian or USSR descent unveiled their latest collections at RFW.

RFW also showcased several international designers that included Latvian Maria Vlasova, Italian brand Alessandro de Benedetti and Spanish designers Custo Barcelona and Toni Francesc.

Aptly on Nov 4, the dates of the U.S. Presidential elections, Russian politician Irina Hakamada along with a famous Russian designer Lena Makashova showcased their joint HaKaMa collection on RFW catwalk while Chistova&Endourova closed the season.

Russian Fashion Week informal opening and closing fashion parties were held in the Famous club. These traditional RFW’s “must-be” parties attracted over 2,000 Moscow fashionistas and trendsetters each.

All in all RFW SS/09 attracted over 50,000 guests – clients, buyers, Russia’s famous pop stars, TV and film stars, local and international media, as well as the country’s elite and emerging designers.
