NEW YORK, Dec 18, 2008 / FW/ — The first show of the Claro Rio Summer, the Brazilian high summer fashion event that rocked Rio de Janeiro last Nov 5 – 8, 2008 at the Fort of Copacabana presented a true Brazilian beat.
With an open air catwalk set up with the ocean as its natural backdrop, the designer Carlos Miele presented his high summer men’s and women’s ready to wear collection. Opening the show with the Brazilian top Isabelli Fontana, who was followed by Michelle Alves and Aline Weber.
International personalities could be spotted looking amazed in the front row, very excited by the Brazilian percussion band Afro Reggae who provided the live sound track to the show.
They included Natalia Vodianova and her husband Justin Portman, Lady Gabriela Windsor, Eliana Tranchesi (owner of Daslu in Brazil), Astrid Munhoz, Andrea Dellal, Charlene Shorto, Donata Meirelles (International Director of Daslu, one of the event’s curators) and her husband, Nizan Guanaes, the businessman behind Claro Rio Summer, in a very relaxed attitude, set on the ground not to miss any detail.
