MILAN, Feb 27, 2009 / FW/ — Giorgio Armani must still have a Big Apple fever having opened a new Armani flagship store at New York’s 5th Avenue last week because the Emporio Armani Fall 2009 collection he unveiled yesterday at Via Bergognone is something that hallway fashionistas from New York’s exclusive schools would wear.
It’s about a young woman who is growing up to be a young lady. Cute and sweet, there is no sign of ‘streetwear’ here, including trousers and jeans that Emporio Armani is actually known for.
The focus is on the skirt that stops a span above the knee, thus, emphasizing the legs that is covered with knee high socks.
Short crop jackets and knitted cardigans are alternated with winter coats that are the same length as the short skirts.
Padded shoulders and cut like an hourglass that slightly flares below the waist give it a very youthful bounce, literally and figuratively.
