NEW YORK, Apr 21, 2009 / FW/ — Fashionistas just cannot get enough of Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa, Women’s Creative Director and Italo Zucchelli Men’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection.
On April 27, at the FIT Senior BFA Show, Italo Zucchelli will be one of the judges for Best Menswear designer. Meanwhile, Francisco Costa goes prime time tomorrow when he tapes a segment for The Martha Stewart Show wherein he will talk to a live studio audience about fashion and share his two Brazilian cocktails recipe.
Then on May 11, both Costa and Zucchelli will represent Calvin Klein Collection for 10th Annual Art & Photography Auction of Free Arts NYC. Calvin Klein Collection has partnered with Free Arts NYC for this event that raises funds to support Free Arts NYC Programs for Children.
Joining Free Arts NYC board members Amy Sacco and Mary Alice Stephenson, as this year’s event co-chairs are; Francisco Costa, Women’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection; Italo Zucchelli, Men’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection; Glenda Bailey, Editor in Chief, Harper’s Bazaar; and David Granger, Editor in Chief, Esquire.
This year’s auctioneer is Phillips de Pury’s Chairman, Simon de Pury, who also serves as a Free Arts NYC board member. This year’s event committee includes Angie Harmon, Amanda Hearst, Iman, Michelle Monaghan, Lindsay Price, Aby Rosen & Samantha Boardman, Rachel Roy, Brooke Shields, Molly Sims, Liv Tyler, Vanessa von Bismark, Karolina Kurkova, Hilary Rhoda and Yvonne Force Villareal. Special honorary celebrity hosts will be announced at a later date.
For the seventh consecutive year, the live auction will feature unique, large-scale, 20” x 24” Polaroid® photographs, created specifically for Free Arts NYC by leading contemporary artists. Due to the limited film quantities, these one-of-a-kind prints have become all the more valuable.
As in the past, the event will also feature a silent auction of approximately 75 artworks celebrating the vast diversity of talent spanning today’s art world.
Participating artists include Chris Burden, Mary Heilmann, Gary Hume, Barbara Kruger, James Nares, Yoko Ono, and Christopher Wool, among others.
Champagne and wine for the evening will be courtesy of Henriot Inc. and all proceeds from the auctions will go directly to support Free Arts NYC’s programs.
Tickets and information are available through Free Arts NYC at 212-974-9092 or online at www.freeartsnyc.org
