NEW YORK, Apr 20, 2009 / FW/ — Capping off its 50th anniversary celebration, Lilly Pulitzer asked nine celebrity mothers – Brooke Shields, Debra Messing, Marcia Cross, Angie Harmon, Bridget Moynahan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Catherine Bell, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon to design an exclusive mother/child look as part of the brand’s Summer 2009 Collection.
The collection which hits Lilly Pulitzer stores this month, just in time for Mother’s Day feature Lilly Pulitzer-inspired prints that were designed by the celebs from scratch.
From resort chic tunics that will take you from poolside to party, to beach-ready bathing suits and cute dresses for little ones, these limited edition pieces capture the wit and whimsy of Lilly Pulitzer, while giving back.
Commenting on her collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer, Brooke Shields said, “I grew up in Lilly Pulitzer. I’ve always loved the fun prints because they reminded me of summer.”
15% of proceeds from the celebrity designs support The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF: www.ebkids.org). EBMRF supports research and treatment for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare, inherited skin disease which affects young children and adults.
In celebration of A Colorful Cause, Bloomingdale’s New York flagship at 59th Street will feature the collection in their Lexington Avenue store windows from April 27th to May 11th.
The store will also host an exclusive launch event on April 30th from 6pm to 8pm, with a special celebrity guest.
