Pelican Avenue Fall 2009
Pelican Avenue Fall 2009

BARCELONA, Apr 13, 2009 / FW/ — With the intention of taking fashion presentations beyond nostalgic romanticism and glamour and into a progressive future, Pelican Avenue designer Carolin Lerch collaborated with multimedia artist Michiel Helbig to create a pelican video

The starting points of the collections and series of items are personal multi-layered reflections. The products have to support the expression of these ideas. The results are presented in their totality by different kinds of media, such as videos, photography, installations, etc.

Originally, pelican avenue collections were not created for presentation at fashion shows. For Barcelona 080, the label sees interpreting a catwalk presentation in its own way as a challenge.

Gathering pieces from former collections and remixing them with in the Fall 2009 / Winter 2010 collection detaches the work from its conceptual background, providing a more general overview of the label’s aesthetics, prints, shapes and atmosphere, whilst questioning the idea of brevity in fashion.
