NEW YORK, Apr 27, 2009/ — L’Oreal Paris presented the third annual L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth Vision Award to Jennifer Phang for her screenplay “Look For Water” at the Tribeca All Access Awards on Friday, April 24, 2009.
As one of the Tribeca Film Festival’s sponsors, the L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth Vision Award was created to honor a female filmmaker whose work reflects the spirit of L’Oreal’s Women of Worth initiative, a grassroots program that recognizes women from around the country who serve their communities, inspire others by example and have an innate sense of social responsibility and act on it.
“The four simple words–‘Because I’m Worth It’–are a galvanizing and unifying force for the L’Oreal Paris community,” says Karen Fondu, president, L’Oreal Paris. “The Women of Worth initiative brings this message to life, and now we’re thrilled to be able to extend it even further, recognizing female filmmakers whose visions echo this vital program’s ideals.”
The award was presented to filmmaker Jennifer Phang by author, L’Oreal Paris Spokesperson and UNICEF Ambassador Dayle Haddon. Phang received a $15,000 cash prize and a limited edition L’Oreal Paris 2009 Women of Worth Compact Designed by Carelle. One limited edition compact is up for auction at www.ebay.com/lorealparis through May 1, 2009, with 100% of the proceeds to benefit The Tribeca Film Institute.
